PINS (Persons in Need of Supervision) Diversion program serves children
from the ages of 8 to 17 and their families, in collaboration with
the Wayne County Probation Department and the Department of Social
Services. Services are provided to at-risk youth who are determined to
be eligible for the program by the Department of Probation. The program
is mandated by the State of New York as a means of reducing
referrals to Family Court for detention and out-of-home placement.
Specific services include in-depth assessment, bi-weekly home visits,
regular contact with school personnel and collaboration with other agencies.
Case managers work with parents and schools to develop behavioral
plans for all participating youth.
