To apply for Food Stamp Benefits or inquire about eligibility visit www.mybenefits.ny.gov or visit the Wayne County Department of Social Services. The Food Stamp Program issues monthly benefits that can be used to purchase food at authorized retail food stores. Food Stamp benefits help low-income working people, seniors, the disabled and others feed their families. Benefits are provided through an electronic benefit card, similar to a debit or credit card. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income, expenses and other factors. If you work hard but still struggle to make ends meet, you may be able to supplement your food budget through the Food Stamp Program. www.mybenefits.ny.gov can assist New York State residents in applying for food stamp benefits. To find out the best way for you to apply for food stamp benefits, go to www.mybenefits.ny.gov and click the "Apply For Benefits' button. You can prescreen for Temporary Assistance, Food Stamps, Health Insurance, tax credits and other programs by clicking on the AM I eligible button.
